The New Tacoma Neighborhood Council supports the principles of expanding transportation options that increase economic development and the attractiveness of the city while reducing pollution. We also support Tacoma Streetcar’s vision of a citywide streetcar system.
To this end, we request that any future Sound Transit ballot proposal include an extension of the existing LINK system. Further, we ask that extensions be made using “standard” streetcar technology (as opposed to light rail) in order to reduce costs and interruption associated with construction.
